The nation's total rises to 4,894,250 once the new infections are added, with the cumulative number of fatalities reaching 97,198 after health authorities confirmed 235 more deaths. The country's seven-day COVID-19 incidence rate, which measures the number of people infected per 100,000, also set a record and landed at 249.1.
