Moderna to supply 110M more COVID shots to AU
Moderna Inc. unveiled on Tuesday that it reached a new agreement with the African Union to supply the bloc with 110 million additional doses of its coronavirus vaccine.
Moderna Inc. unveiled on Tuesday that it reached a new agreement with the African Union to supply the bloc with 110 million additional doses of its coronavirus vaccine, Baku Tribune reports citing Breaking News.
According to the company, the doses have been negotiated at the lowest tiered price, with the first batch of 15 million to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2021, followed by 35 million doses and 60 million doses in the first two quarters of 2022 respectively.
The new doses will be in addition to the 500 million doses that are being supplied to the Union through COVAX. Lastly, Moderna noted that discussions are still ongoing for manufacturing the vaccines in Africa by 2023.
