Azerbaijan, Serbia discuss prospects for development of bilateral relations

As part of his official visit to Serbia, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Vladimir Orlic. The two discussed prospects for development of existing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia, as well as relations at the inter-parliamentary level. Hailing the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said they are based on mutual respect and trust. The sides also touched upon the support of the two countries to each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty on multilateral platforms. Speaking about the development dynamics of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed that high-level visits between the two countries contributed to the strengthening of bilateral relations. The pair also recalled the working and official visits of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Vladimir Orlic to Azerbaijan, as well as the official visit of the Speaker of the Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova to Serbia. Noting Azerbaijan and Serbia enjoy a multilateral cooperation in economic, energy, trade turnover, information technology, tourism and other fields, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted large potential in this field. The Minister noted the significance of the activity of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia. Bayramov gave insight into the anti-terrorist measures carried out by Azerbaijan, as well as the current situation in the region and the prospects of the peace process with Armenia. The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
