“Baku is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The people here are friendly, hospitable and responsive.”
Areeb khan Iam, a Pakistani student of the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, told Baku Tribune about this. According to him, life is unthinkable without change. “I like changes, otherwise I would not be in Azerbaijan, far from my homeland. What I believe is that each of us has only one chance to reach our potential. Baku played a very important role in unlocking my potential. I recommend Pakistanis and other foreigners to come to Baku for education. The quality of your life depends only on you,” Areeb khan Iam is convinced. The Pakistani student noted that he is studying in the field of biomedical engineering at ASOIU within the framework of the Erasmus exchange program. “I am now in my last fourth year, in a few months I will have to return to Karachi. I really like the university, here there is an opportunity to reveal my creative potential. In addition, teachers show concern for foreign students. It seems to me that an opinion about a particular university is formed on the basis of the attitude of university staff towards students,” said Areeb khan Iam. The Pakistani student also added that he maintains relationships with both Azerbaijanis and other foreign students. “I really like the subject of multiculturalism. In my free time, I prefer to volunteer. Actually, volunteering is my passion. I am also the coordinator of so many student clubs at the university. There are many advantages, of course. But there is one caveat: it is not so easy to find rental housing, students cannot work after graduation, there are no available vacancies,” he said.
