Baku Tribune presents interview with a student of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) Adiba Alfailakavi.
- Tell us a little about yourself. How did it happen that you ended up in Azerbaijan? - My name is Adiba Alfailakavi. I am from Kuwait. I am 21 years old. Before coming to Azerbaijan, I did research about universities in this country, got acquainted with their history and chose the Azerbaijan State of Oil and Industry University. I like university life. I am studying to be a mechanical engineer. Student life is not only seminars, notes and lectures, it is also communication, new acquaintances, friendship, sports, participation in extracurricular activities. The local students and teachers at the university are very friendly. As for the prospects for education, they seem to be cloudless, as the quality of teaching at the university is high. I will be the first student from Kuwait to graduate from a university in Azerbaijan and return to her homeland. This is something new and unique in my opinion. - What were your expectations before moving to Azerbaijan? - To be honest, there were no special expectations, because I don't like to expect anything, but I saw that students and teachers speak several languages - Turkish, Russian, Azerbaijani and English. This is something new in the world: students and teachers speak more than two languages. - Are you satisfied with the level of education at ASOIU? - Yes, I am very satisfied with the level of education at this university. The training program is very rich. Lectures are held at a high level. However, teaching methods in Kuwaiti and Azerbaijani universities are very different. - What would you recommend for those who want to enter ASOIU? - When choosing a university, focus on history, study the history of its creation. ASOIU has an amazing history. If someone is looking for the best education, the best teachers, then this is the university where I study. Students and teachers are very friendly and helpful. Whenever we want to ask teachers a specific question, they kindly answer it. I am satisfied with all the conditions created for students at this university. Rolan Yusufov
