Mexican regulator approves Pfizer's COVID-19 pill

According to the press release, the drug, which combines nirmatrelvir and ritonavir in a tablet, will be used to treat adult patients with mild or moderate COVID-19 symptoms and with the risk of complications.
The head of COFEPRIS, Alejandro Svarch Pérez, explained that this approval represents a new tool in the strategy to combat COVID-19. "This treatment will be crucial to reduce hospitalizations in Mexico, so we are pleased to be the first country in Latin America to authorize its emergency use," added Svarch Perez.
