India's daily COVID cases hit six-month high

I ndia's Health and Family Welfare Ministry confirmed in its latest update that 58,097 people across the nation tested positive for the coronavirus disease in the past twenty-four hours, Baku Tribune reports citing Breaking News. The figure brings the total number of cases the country saw since the start of the pandemic to 35,286,905. It also marks India's highest daily jump in COVID-19 cases since June 19, when health officials confirmed 58,226 new infections. The number of virus-related deaths increased by 534 to land at 482,551, while total recoveries reached 34,321,803, taking the number of active cases down to 214,004.
