Markets on Wall Street closed higher on Friday as investors digested economic data reports that showed consumer sentiment in the United States hit a 10-year low this month, while September job openings remained unchanged from the previous month. Stocks still posted weekly losses as concerns about high inflation following the latest consumer price index report continued to affect sentiment.

The Dow Jones climbed 0.50%. The best performer was 3M, up 1.94%. The Nasdaq 100 jumped 1.04%, led by Meta whose shares surged 4.01%. The S&P 500 rose 0.72% with Etsy soaring 7.42%. The euro traded flat against the dollar, going for 1.14453 at 3:55 pm ET.
